I would like to recommend a book for all of my fellow TTCers. It is called Taking Charge of Your Fertility, by Toni Weschler. (visit http://www.ovusoft.com/ to learn more about the book)
Our bodies are beautifully designed and this book is an "owner's manual" of sorts when it comes to our reproductive parts and processes. ;-)
I know we all long to have babies knit in us and I hate to just assume everyone knows how everything works. I know I didn't always understand ovulation and timing so I want to make sure you do as you set about this journey.
Of course, I will never deny that God is the ultimate creator!!!!! Without The Big Man ordaining your conception, all the tips and tricks you buy into down here will still never result in a baby. Please don't think this book is a gimmick or a surefire way to get pregnant. It is not.
It is however, an eye opening explanation of how our bodies work, and can help you time your "conception efforts". ;-)
I discovered this book a few months before I conceived my son. At the time my cycles were very erratic and I was trying to find ways to better my chances of conception. I ordered it off Amazon and received it a day or two later. Once I picked it up I could not put it down. It was filled with information I had never heard before!!!!!
I learned so much about fertility signs and ways to "time things right" just by cluing into them. Like I've mentioned before, I do not temp, but that is an excellent way to see exactly what stage of the cycle your body is at. The second is to pay attention to cervical fluid. Not exactly a dinner table topic but cervical fluid is soooooo important when trying to conceive! That for me, was the best tip I gleaned from the book. A third and final way to track fertility is by noting the position of the cervix. This is another sign I choose not to chart but it is a wonderful way to be in tune with your body. These 3 methods of tracking fertility are often put together and used as a birth control method known as FAM (Fertility Awareness Method). It is an all natural, non hormonal, free method of preventing or achieving pregnancy.
I think any woman would find this book interesting and insightful, especially those trying to conceive. Please, if you don't understand ovulation and timing and cycles and menstruation, or even if you think you do, take a look at this book and see if you can't come away with some useful information.
I am in no way affiliated with this book or the author... I do not get paid for recommending it.... I simply desire to help women during their journey to conception and I think the information in this book is vital to the process. God is such an amazing creator. He designed us... He crafted us... He planned us out and thought things through and His work is exquisite!!!!!
Ladies, I pray you can use the information in the book to feel more confident and less anxious about your trying to conceive efforts and that one day soon you can rejoice that the Lord knit in you.

I love this book! I read it soon after my daughter was born because my husband and I knew we didn't want to get pregnant right away, but we didn't want to pump my body full of synthetic hormones. We have used it for a year now and the only pregnancy we achieved was when we were actually trying. (we lost that baby a week after we found out about her) I completely agree, if God isn't behind it, it ain't happening. But this book really highlights how "wonderfully and fearfully" we are made, even if the author doesn't link to that thought. I highly recommend it to all my friends.
